Wizard Browser is built on the premise that the modern web shouldn't watch you back. This page exists to be honest about the one place where that premise leaks: our hosting provider's server logs.
We don't collect anything. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking cookies, no accounts, no email lists, no fingerprinting. The Wizard Browser app itself never phones home about you. Our website's host (1984 Hosting) keeps standard server logs and uses a privacy-respecting visit counter — those logs are theirs, not ours, and we never see them.
Nothing. The Wizard Browser desktop application does not:
The only network call the app makes on its own is a check against the GitHub Releases API on startup to see whether a newer version is available. You can disable that under Settings → Updates.
All of your data — bookmarks, settings, speed dial, per-site rules, browsing data while a session is alive — lives only on your own machine, in your OS user folder. Use the Export / Import button in Settings to move it yourself; nobody else can.
Nothing of our own. This site has no analytics scripts, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar, no first-party cookies. We do not run A/B tests on you and we do not build behavioural profiles.
The site does include a live release banner that fetches the latest version tag from the public GitHub Releases API. That request goes from your browser straight to github.com — we don't proxy it and we don't see it. GitHub's own privacy practices apply.
This site is hosted by 1984 Hosting in Iceland — a provider chosen specifically because they're aggressive about user privacy and operate under Icelandic data-protection law.
When you visit any 1984-hosted website, they collect:
Those logs and that cookie data belong to 1984 Hosting, not to us. We have no analytics dashboard, no traffic reports, and no per-visitor data made available to us. For their handling, retention, and your rights, see 1984 Hosting's privacy policy.
Two outbound dependencies are loaded by this site, both on first paint:
fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Per Google's own statement, those requests are not used for ad targeting, but they do see your IP. We're evaluating self-hosting the font to remove this dependency entirely. No other third-party scripts run on this site.
The companion Wizard Extension Store is a separate site running on Netlify, backed by Supabase. It has its own minimal collection: extension reviews you choose to write are public, and Supabase keeps standard request logs. We do not link extension installs back to identifiable users.
Wizard Browser is general-purpose desktop software. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age, because we don't collect information from anyone in the first place.
If our practices change, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, because we don't have your email.
